Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Hall
Spectators can watch sumo, the national sport of Japan, in this facility. Of the Grand Sumo Events held 6 times per year, 3 (January, May, and September) are held in the Kokugikan Sumo Hall. During other periods, the hall is used for wrestling events and concerts.
The first floor is the Sumo Museum, in which banzuke (lists of sumo wrestlers' names and rankings), mawashi (the loincloth worn by sumo wrestlers during matches), pictures, and other items are on display.
In the areas surrounding the Kokugikan, there are many chanko-nabe restaurants, so guests can enjoy feeling like a sumo wrestler.
